Sparrow, MarkAny, Cubig, HANZOOM, and SoftCamp were finally selected for the 2024 second-half Information Security Product Innovation Awards, which discover and recognize innovative information and physical security products.
The Ministry of Science and ICT held an awards ceremony at the 2024 Information Security Industry Night at Novotel Ambassador Seoul Gangnam, presenting ministerial awards to 10 companies that won this year’s awards.
The Information Security Product Innovation Awards, launched in 2022, are hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by KISIA and ETNews. They were established to discover and recognize innovative security products based on new technologies and convergence, and to support domestic security companies’ technology development and promotion. Five products are selected in each half of the year.
In the second-half review, products were evaluated for development excellence, reliability, marketability, competitiveness, ripple effects, innovation, and differentiation. Sparrow, MarkAny, Cubig, and HANZOOM were named in the information and physical security category, while SoftCamp was named in the rapid confirmation category.
Sparrow was recognized for Sparrow SAST, MarkAny for Screen TRACER, and Cubig for DTS. HANZOOM drew positive reviews for Smart Safety Control (Keyless), a bidirectional OTP security authentication solution that links IoT devices, a smartphone application, and an authentication server to open and close doors safely and conveniently through a contactless smart door lock.
SoftCamp received recognition for SHIELDEX Remote Browser, a remote browser isolation solution. The ceremony also included awards for contributions to the information security industry, the Information Security Awards, merit awards, and outstanding R&D awards, along with an ICT convergence industry security conference.
KISIA Chairman Cho Young-chul emphasized that Korea must go beyond quantitative growth in information security personnel training and achieve qualitative results. The government reaffirmed its will to support the domestic information security industry’s global expansion, with the goal of becoming one of the world’s top five information security powers and fostering security unicorns.
Minister Yoo Sang-im said that the competitiveness of Korea’s information security industry is directly linked to national cyber security, and that the government will provide the support needed for industry professionals’ efforts to bear fruit in the global market.
